Remove the electric plug and fuel hoses (on both the driver and passenger sides) and tuck them to the side. Keep rags on hand for gas spillage. Use a clamp tool to remove the fuel line or, if you don't have one, use strong fingers. Use a flat head and a hammer to tap the brass ring loose. Set it aside. Pull up the fuel filter assembly 3 inches or so and disconnect the two electrical plugs, then let it drop into the tank. This will give you room to pull the assembly up more. Then, remove the two fuel lines from the bottom of the fuel filter assembly. Don't worry about mixing up the lines as they are two different diameters. Leave the fuel filter assembly set on top because the next step needs to be done in order to free an additional line coming from the fuel filter assembly. Pull up the fuel regulator enough to disconnect the electrical wires and then remove the two fuel lines from the bottom of the regulator. The regulator should come out freely. Set it aside. Disconnect the fuel lines inside the tank, one of which comes from the fuel filter assembly. Disconnect the fuel lines inside the driver's side tank, one of which comes from the passenger side fuel pump. The fuel tank rubber seal needs to be kept as it can be used again. Unclip a black hose from the top of the fuel pump (both driver and passenger sides have this hose with a clip, which are very easy to unclip). Grip the top of the pump and turn it left a quarter of the way until the pump releases and remove it. Be careful, as gas will spill from the pumps.
