Skin designer
The Tec-9 Fuel Injector skin was introduced to CS:GO on August 18, 2016, as part of the Gamma 2 Case and the Gamma 2 Collection. It was created by community designer "emu" and can be obtained by opening a Gamma 2 Case container.
Now, onto the skin designer instructions.
Software
You will need software to design your skin. The standard is Adobe Photoshop, specifically Photoshop CS5 Extended, as this version can load .OBJ files. You can download a trial version of Photoshop from the Adobe website. Illustrator is another option, and you can import Illustrator designs into Photoshop as Smart Objects.
CS:GO Workbench
You will also need the CS:GO Workbench Materials: Workshop Resources. These are the editable Object and Texture files you will be designing with.
Design Process
First, download the UV templates from different weapons and create your design over them. You can also create your own UV template from a 2D sketch. You will need to merge each of the color layers from your sketch onto your 3D model and go to its UV to name the layer properly.
Next, load a texture. Go to Window > 3D, and this will open the 3D Scene tab in the panel to the right. Click on "__PS_3D_Default", then click the icon next to "Diffuse" and select "Remove Texture". Click the folder icon next to "Diffuse" and select "Load Texture". Navigate to the UVSheets folder and select the texture for the weapon you are designing.
Submission
Submit your work using a tool inside the CS:GO client, which is accessible through the console. Other Steam users can upvote or downvote your designs in the workshop. If your design catches Valve's attention, it may be added to the game.
Finish Styles
There are several "Finish Styles" in CS:GO that are based on real-world painting techniques. Each Finish Style has its own quirks and will demand a specific design and preparation of your texture file. For example, the Spray-Paint finish wears differently than the Hydrographic finish.
Lighting
Play around with how your skin reflects light by adjusting the phongexponent, phongintensity, and pearlescent.
Preview
You can add animated GIFs to show your skin in action or Sketchfab previews to allow people to rotate a 3D model preview of your skin in their browser.
