Remove the seat

To remove the seat back, undo the big seatbelt anchor Torx bolts at the bottom, then remove the four small crosshead screws at the bottom of the seat back. Two of these are at either side of the seat back by the rear doors, and the other two are behind the central armrest. Once you've done this, grab the bottom of the seat back and push the whole seat back upwards. Push it up a few inches, then pull the top of the seat back towards you, keeping it raised high enough to clear the three seatbelt reels which are bolted to the chassis behind. Thread the three seatbelts through the top holes, pull the whole seat back towards you, and it's done.

If you are removing the front passenger seat, there are four Torx head bolts in the runners (one on each end of the two runners). Disconnect the battery and remove the plugs underneath, then remove the side trim and undo the seatbelt loop. Gently remove the seat from the car.

Disconnect electrical connector

Finally, extract the pump module. First, lift the top plate and extend the piping sufficiently to reach in and release the locating clips. Slowly and carefully lift out the pump module, ensuring that the filter and the level float do not get caught and damaged. Let as much fuel drip back into the tank as you can and then lift out into a petrol-resistant tray.
