Replacing Fuel Filter In A 2000 S10: Step-By-Step Guide

If you want to replace the fuel filter on a 2000 S10, you'll first need to relieve the fuel pressure and then use a flare nut wrench to loosen the fuel line nut. You'll also need a small bar to pop the brake, return fuel line and vacuum line loose from the plastic bracket holding the fuel filter. Be sure to have a catch container ready, as there will be fuel leakage.

Take out the old fuel filter

Next, crawl under the truck with your wrenches and locate the fuel filter. It should be on the driver's side frame rail on the inside. It will look like a can with a plastic strap around it. Insert the new fuel filter

To insert the new fuel filter into your 2000 S10, follow these steps:

Now, slide the new fuel filter into the round bracket.

Then, screw the other fuel line onto the fuel filter and tighten it with the 9/16 wrench.

Now, screw the gas cap back onto the gas tank.
